SO! I have made exactly 1,111 comments with Messenger.
It is time for a question meme!
I play Ptou the Messenger and Fang/Sparta/Rind. The former is very settled the latter still working on. COME AT ME BROS.

OKAY YES. Meeting one of the spirits of the people they really and honestly TRIED to save way back then was a bit of a kick in the pants.
There was honestly no way that it couldn't be awkward. If he didn't say it then, it's not like he could exactly HIDE it, between how many people knew him and that issue with direct questions.
Outside of that literally watching her world shatter a bit, he... likes her. She's damn strong, and manages to deal with everything with a certain odd humor. She's definitely one of mommas and that is only another plus in her favor. We need to have them thread more because really, they could be worlds of terrible.

So what she's seen of him as a person so far she really, really likes! He's an adorable boy! He's lulz-oriented! Sparkles! Bad jokes!
But he is also a giant blinking neon sign that reads "EVERYTHING YOU BELIEVED IN WENT TO TO SHIT AND YOUR WORLD BURNED."
And that. It's hard to be zen about, but she's working on it. Her plan is to continue to not think about anything too hard and see if she can make him blush. It's a solid plan full of coping skills.

... and he doesn't have the gall to admit it, but he dislikes being relatively helpless. Not that he was ever a major power in circle of major deities that he was, but not knowing what he can do or how is very unsettling to him. He'll eventually get creative to make up for it, but yes.
What are Fuka's immediate plans for this new world?

Ptou meets himself as a kid and can give himself a piece of advice. WHAT WOULD IT BE??

Okay, no, actually he does, and it involves CELL DIVISION.
Gosh he loves Tempest. She laughs a lot, rolls with all the craziness that goes on. She's sincere too though and drops into serious on cue. He considers her a bro, and has high expectations of her being a wondermous partner in crime. Not to mention, she gives twice as good as she gets, which gives Chrono a sometimes ally in the APARTMENT SPARKLES teasing fests that happen. (and him, since no alliance is permanent.)
He has a million questions for her... she's strong and competent, which gives him the natural question of HOW HERE. The missing finger, and things of that nature... but has no real urge to ASK yet, or at this point, doesn't feel like the relationship has quite gotten there. In a way... Apartment Sparkles has kind of just started to get close to each other... and most of them are a mystery to him.
He does kind of really look forward to getting to know her better.

She is so charmed by Ptou. It takes . . . generally a lot to really get her to genuinely like someone, but Ptou has managed to do it at an alarming speed. She is completely taken with him, enjoys the teasing (and doubly enjoys getting him to fluster, since he seems to be the only always causing it), and she has not laughed that much since she was a child. She completely adores all the antics and people in Apartment Sparkles.
And honestly, was extremely pleased and a little touched that he would speak Elven with her. Thusia has given her a chance to kind of embrace that part of her heritage since there's no STIGMA, and that really just . . . helps, a lot. He has quickly become someone she will openly say is a friend (which, again, is another rare thing) and if he ever were to ask her any questions, she would gladly answer, knowing that she could trust him with at least the basics.
She also looks forward to getting to know him more, and really, all the antics that lay ahead.
SHARKS. How do you feel about your crow being dead and really having no idea what he wants to do now?

SLIM TO NONE. I. I just can't kill the snake. As much as I sincerely doubt he could even conceptualize his own death and would just ignore it, he's one of the few I can't ax. Not to mention, the voice overlap with Messenger.

In a normal case, where he could follow events, what Akito said to him would be utterly emotionally devastating. Sparta IS Agito, after all, and in his quiet way, cares an ENORMOUS amount about Akito's life and happiness. In fact, is very well known to defer his own FOR him.
But it was so out of the blue, so in the middle of things he couldn't quite grasp was real to START with, it just couldn't stick and fell sharply into WHAT THE FUCK?
He's felt out a few people here and there, and gotten very curt, evasive answers, so his next step is just to go find the kid, and figure this whole mess out so he can sleep well at night.
AND YUSH >D I will pounce tonight.

FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT BEING MORTAL SO FAR GO
no subject
SELF DETERMINATION. Yes, the biology is neat, and the feeling of SKIN and hair and smell and taste and GOSH do you know colors process SO differently like this? I wonder if EVERYONE sees it differently. Swapping between mortal and squidrat's a headtrip for him... and really everything is.
But yes. He likes the fact that... okay, he's not NORMAL, but he just is blending in, in his own outspoken way. He IS a part of this team, this IS his home surrounded by amazing people that he's just... one of.
The fate of this world, hell even the REALITY of this world, what it is, what it was, and what it would be... are a mystery to him. His place in it, how he changes it or doesn't... is up to him. there's nothing he HAS to do, it's all up to what he WANTS to. I'm not sure THAT joy will ever dim.
Gosh someone get him sweets though, sometime, if you want an amazing reaction. Or spicy foods.
What does Chrono think is up, as far as this world? Has he put much thought into it?
no subject
He has not! Or, rather, he's specifically made an effort not to. He doesn't want anything to do with this world, really--he doesn't see it as home or a second chance, he just wants to be DEAD. So he kind of views everything going on as temporary and not worth worrying himself over because if he gets his way, it will be. He HAS had some very troubled "where are the residents of this world now?" thoughts, because... How can anyone from Sabra NOT? He genuinely hopes they all died, good and proper. And he doesn't trust the gods as far as he can throw them (hence his HORROR over the Hellion thing) but he's conceded that they have no choice but to work with them.
... Is there anything that could happen here that would genuinely shake Messenger? 8|a HE'S JUST SO HAPPY
no subject
At this point, not a whole lot... Queen would pretty much be it. (flowers might as well, depending on how it went.)
Chrono's thoughts on his maidenly bedmate (and the teasing he's probably getting by now?)
no subject
BASICALLY HE UH. ...Well it's a problem of who, not really what. He slept in a pile with Pavo for a really long time, so it's not like he's THAT prudish. And it's not like it's like that, he'd innocently share a bed with pretty much anyone he cared about enough. Basically the problem is that she's Mary who he has ~feelings~ for, but she's NOT, and she thinks he's someone he isn't, who SHE has ~feelings~ for, so he simultaneously WANTS TO BE NEAR HER ALWAYS and NOT EVEN ON THE SAME PLANET WITH HER. And the night of the party, she was drunk and mistakenly called him "Tide" when she does not actually know Chrono's other name is Tide. He sort of wanted to curl up in the the hallway after that 8|;; So obviously sharing a bed with her brought all that conflict to the forefront because she was RIGHT THERE and ALL OVER HIM. (ON TOP OF OTHER CONFLICTS, you bastard). It sucks and he really should get his own futon.
So tl;dr a lot of awkward tsun feelings that are masking a lot of REALLY DARK UNHAPPY THOUGHTS. SPOILERS Chrono can't even sleep with a hot chick without making it into something depressing.
... The teasing will legitimately make him tsunflip though. NO STOP GO AWAY YOU DON'T KNOW MY LIFE ///

He KNOWS that at least ONE VERSION made it out and got their happy ends. HE DID HIS DOUBLE DAMNED BEST AND IT WORKED. He's SAD that there are versions that didn't. He feels for them, but he don't feel particularly responsible for them having died. It was a WHAT IF, that panned out into another reality.
Now, when we get into subjects of them having been taken to Sabra in the first place, and general things that happened, that's a whole different kettle... and in a way, he's coping with it by considering what he does here a penance.
OLD SABRA KIDS... gosh he. He doesn't even know. Those souls, more than anyone, the gods failed. He hasn't even really been able to honestly put together how to feel about that or what to do.
GENERALLY, he's not in a bad state over it, and will just. DO HIS BEST to help here.

SO. Messenger basically resolved to visit any and all of the gods he could to see what sort of a feel he could get for the dynamic of this pantheon. It is going to be his home, and they're accessible, so really, why not?
Of all of them, Kain is the first and currently ONLY one Ptou completely, honestly and without reservation actually likes. He's quick and whimsical and just makes SENSE TO Ptou. He's easy to talk to and just GETS things in the ways others don't. He really just wants to sit and chat at any given opportunity, and likely does stop by with a visit every day or so, if for nothing else, then just to say hi and see what perspective he may have on it. As far as the political angles and calculated gambles he's taken on the rest... he very simply isn't doing it with Kain and has taken him off the list of those he's been sharing information about.
As I mentioned in the meme to Chrono, pretty much on the short list of people he finds extremely emotionally attractive, and at this point it's really just a puppyish joy in just DEALING with someone so similar at last. And he's literally the ONLY one so far at ALL to make any sort of physical contact with Ptou that wasn't comedically violent, which had REALLY gotten his attention. (almost any new sensation will) I imagine fairly soon that impish humor will start coming out in the conversations too and will start seeing if he can talk Kain into joining them for like. Midair tea and other ridiculous adventures.

Kain is fascinated by Ptou in a way he hasn’t been in..gosh, he probably doesn’t even know. He’s so used to being in his own world even amongst the gods that he gets ignored in part by everyone sometimes…he just tends to go on and on about things that no one else cares about. Ptou has a brilliant mind that /sees/ things in a way that he can see and not only understands but proposes his own ideas regarding the things they talk about. Maybe it’s because Ptou was a god himself, but there’s a soulful richness in the Messenger that Kain can feel, like Ptou has traveled a road that Kain has not and this makes Kain all the more eager to learn more about his new friend. That Ptou has a perspective, mortality, that Kain does not hold makes him an even more appealing companion.
I’ve already said before, Ptou is Kain’s complete puppy crush right now. He’s never spared a thought for affection outside of that for his pantheon or pleasure at a bright mind, but Ptou is like a burning sun that can’t be ignored. He will always reply to Ptou’s summons at the shrine and looks greatly forward to their time together. The physical thing is very intimate without being intentional- it just felt like the obvious thing to do, to connect with him, so he did it. In fact Kain still doesn’t even know Ptou’s name (ICly) but he already thinks of Ptou as “him” in his head or when he’s speaking with other gods, shows he’s a special red velvet cupcake. He does want to learn more about Ptou and his past, and when they’ve had more time together, possibly reveal more about the gods’ plans to him as well- because he trusts Ptou like none of the mortals here, to understand what and why without judgement. However, that will take time.
Ptou on death, dying and the possibility of it happening in Thusia again?
no subject
He really has not taken well to pain and he's very, very conscious of the feeling of a lifespan now. An ageless entity now in a body with a scattered handful of decades left, he can FEEL time is going to be an eyeblink and it's terrifying to him. He's not sure if he has ENOUGH time to make an impact, to enjoy, to taste, to DO everything he wants to. So he's madly living without regret.
.. on the other hand, the concept of death doesn't bother him at all. At the end of all things, he died willingly and consider it a proper manner of course. ... He knows that there will be revivals until one's normal lifespan is lived out.. so that blink and what he assumes is a similarly terrible process of coming BACK to life, doesn't really daunt him.
... So basically... TIME scares him, death and danger doesn't.
... he's an odd bird.

Messenger CAN honestly be impulsive, a little random and CERTAINLY is known for his share of bad decisions and indulgence in mischief.
However, he's not really as random as he seems. He was quite aware from Zelda's paper who Eizon was, as he was aware of who Zhen Ji was... and could make a guess, the moment Zhen Ji gave him the task that there was going to be a punishment for whatever he did. Heck, he even mentioned it to Zhen Ji.
What he was looking for, honestly, was the nature of relationships between them, who exactly they were when pushed a little, what they would stop at, and really, what their tactics were. He never really expects his questions to be answered by the gods, and he's been going to talk to all of them, to be answered, but he's become very good at what is NOT said.
So yes, he expected punishment, and really if he'd been killed or hurt, or even turned into something, he'd have come trotting back up to Eizon's shrine the next day, with a casual apology and tried talking with him. He'd have had a nice set of limits and warnings to pass on, and really... who's HE to complain about something terrible happening to a mortal for annoying a god.
... but what he DID... was far more terrifying to him than possibly anything else. And it was so absolutely harmless. It was very specifically designed not to be embarrassing, it wasn't designed to harm or shame him.
It was a lesson in power, helplessness and control. And he learned it very, VERY well. As he said to Zhen Ji. Eizon and his role is necessary, but him in CONTROL is terrifying to Ptou just because he's seen so much of the worst of it.
He KNOWS what that can do... and the use of it certainly put him in his place. He hadn't really intended on taking the hellion thing too seriously, and really, he might not seem like he does now... but things have certainly changed :D
(and yes. Daddy issues to hell and back.)
REVERSE.

Normally Eizon would outright dismiss anyone who appears to be leaning too hard toward rebellion, and he WILL not deal with Hellion because they've willfully given themselves over to his antithesis, but minor acts of rebellion like vandalizing his shrine really don't make him that upset. Which! Is why, yes, as Ptou picked up on, the punishment was very carefully schooled. Honestly, he's not an idiot. Nothing incites rebellion like blatant injustice. Killing someone for vandalizing a shrine would do nothing but create more chaos. Doing anything particularly terrible to Ptou at all would only have people thinking he is some kind of tyrant instead the god of utopias and social order and human progress (=
But he is also perfectly well aware that people are terrified of what he does, and he is not at all against using it. It JUST SO HAPPENS that Ptou happens to have control issues, but really very VERY few types of people enjoy the things Eizon will do to get his way, and he is pretty used to big talk while masking fear.
Also, he is just against wasting resources, so when he spends the energy on taking control of someone he is certainly going to see that they do something useful, like cleaning =T
AS FAR AS PTOU IN SPECIFIC, honestly no much. People sort of blend together to him and he sees them based on where they place themselves more than who they are as individuals. Ptou is on Zhen Ji's side, and thus not someone Eizon likes. He is not aware Ptou used to be a god but nor does he really care. People keep trying to tell Eizon about Sabra and the gods and the god murder and the PAST he thinks it's quite naive that they think it would matter to him. Similarly any former gods in Sabra are CURRENT humans, and humans interest him a great deal more than ex-gods.
